The Wilmington community is heartbroken following the tragic loss of Ryan Evans, 19, and Wahkee Tabron, 21, whose lives were cut short in a devastating shooting on March 24, 2026. Both were among four individuals injured near West 7th and North Adams Streets. Despite efforts to save them, Ryan and Wahkee sadly passed away, leaving their loved ones and community in deep grief.
Ryan was a young man full of life, known for his bright energy and uplifting spirit. At just 19, he had a promising future ahead and a personality that brought joy to everyone around him. Wahkee, 21, was equally cherished for her kind heart, warmth, and strong sense of loyalty. She had a special way of making others feel cared for and valued.
